PRIVACY
DRAFT · 28 JUL 2026
This page covers petrocoordinates.com, the marketing site you are reading right now. It is a set of static files. It has no server-side code, no database and no account system, so most of what a privacy policy usually has to explain does not apply.
What we collect
Nothing. Specifically:
- No accounts. There is no sign-up, no sign-in, and no form on this site — nothing to type your name or email into.
- No analytics. As of today this site runs no analytics or measurement product of any kind. Not Google Analytics, not a "privacy-friendly" alternative, not a pixel.
- No cookies and no tracking. The site sets no cookies and embeds no third-party scripts, iframes or beacons.
- No third-party fonts or CDNs. The typefaces are served from this domain, so loading the page does not tell anyone else that you loaded it.
The one thing stored in your browser
Your day/night preference, under the localStorage key "theme", with the value "light" or "dark". It never leaves your device and it is not sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, after which the site follows your operating system's appearance setting.
Server logs
Whoever hosts these files can see the requests for them — the usual web-server access log: IP address, time, the file requested, your browser's user-agent string. That is a property of how the web works, not something we opt into, and we do not use those logs to build a profile of anyone. This section will name the host once hosting is decided.
Links that leave this site
Links to the web converter carry ?utm_source=marketing so the app can tell that a visitor arrived from here. It identifies the source, not you: it is the same string for every visitor and it carries no identifier. The web app and the iOS app are separate products with their own data handling, described in their own policies.
Children
This is a tool for oil and gas field work. It is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including them.
Changes
If this site ever starts collecting something — an email signup, a measurement tool — this page changes first and says exactly what and why. Questions: support@petrocoordinates.com.
